Occupy My Mind
I am starting to evaluate my beliefs and ideas. I worked for the Netroots conference today where I saw OPPRESSION within the community of the OPPRESSED. Then I saw those who defied authority just because it was called authority. Made me lose much faith in my generation and the movement.
I feel some of us belonging to the movement have been brainwashed and made ourselves feel that all authority is bad, meant to get us, and we must defy all. Some authority is implemented to protect us. While I am an avid believer against authority, not all authoritatives have prerogatives and objectives to destroy us.
I was working at the theatre where the Netroots forum was being held. First offense was when a man approached the stage after the panel discussion had ended and attempted to use the mic. This is unacceptable anywhere. It is a breach of property. If we all did what we wanted without consequence of reprimand there would be chaos. The man was asked to leave because the theatre was closing. I had to endure his ignorance and rant about ” I nevah did well wit authoooority since I wuz a child” I dont fucking care. You don’t disrespect me. Don’t you dare assume that everyone who doesn’t wear ripped jeans, have dreads, smokes pot, and carries around a sign saying “I am the 99%” is against you. I am part of this movement with you. But I have to survive. So I work. My polite demand was not against your beliefs, your religion, your views, what you are, who you are, or against anything. I am merely saying what is being done is unacceptable and not allowed so please don’t do it. There are people who want to close the theatre and go home. Don’t be an inconvenience out of your own ignorance and self-centrism. AND the second offense occured as I asked two hipster ass mother fuckers to close their MACs and to please leave the theatre lobby. No. I am not “oppressing” you and not you may not ” Occupy the Lobby” Get the fuck out of here. Learn what you should really be fighting for and standing for.
I was soo for this movement. I was the movement. I see now the entitled and privilege taking advantage of what I have created. I will not let this continue. I refuse to have MY movement be made a mockery of.
AND WHAT THE FUCK OBAMA! I had soo much faith in you. I have never been more disappointed in a person than today waking up to news about you signing off law to detain?! Where is this money coming from? Our country is in an ecnomic termoil! Right, it comes from me. Screw you. This a $662billion defence bill. I refuse to file my taxes and give any money to this government. I will NOT FUND a police state that strips away my civil liberties as a WOMEN but also as an AMERICAN CITIZEN. You have created a battlefield of American Soil. Be prepared to feel my wrath. I withdraw my candidacy from your campaign and believe me…..when this state does crumble, I will NOT go down silently.
Where do you turn when the people you trusted turn on you. What do you do when your leaders have betrayed you. When is there going to be change.
How will I change the world. how will I make an impression. I am scared to be a leader. Fear runs through me as I think about what must be done. But courage and passion runs through the same blood.
